FEBRUARY ART BREAK

Date: February 21st, 2024

Time: 3:00pm–5:00pm

Location: 994B AAC

Teaching Artist: Derra McWilliams

Drop into this Art Break and stay as long as you’d like! Participants will explore the tactile nature of weaving and experiments with examining elements of visual texture. Experiment with weaving magazine pages by cutting them into a warp and a weft. The vertical warp strands are held stationary in tension, while the horizontal weft is drawn over and under the warp strands. This process-based project places emphasis on experience rather than the product. With that, each piece has multiple outcomes, with ample room for creative decision-making!
