In 2023, Snow City Arts reached a remarkable milestone—25 years of fostering creativity and community engagement. This journey of a quarter-century was celebrated in grand style at the much-anticipated Gallery Night, where we invited members from every corner of the Snow City Arts community to share their thoughts on what our organization means to them.

Many of the postcards we collected are featured below. But here are several of our favorite and repeated responses that stood out and resonated with us:

My favorite Snow City Arts memory is.. // Mi recuerdo favorito con Snow City Arts es..Turning a whole floor of Rush into a dance Floor and made a music video of Billie Jean. // The planet, stop motion movie! // hearing students memories and experiences in the program and how it positively impacted them!
  2. My favorite Snow City Arts project or artwork is.. // Mi proyecto u obra de arte favorita con Snow City Arts es..I bought a artwork a few years ago and I love it so much! // all of the music!! // The poem: Beauty List // Allie made a mosiac of the skyline using broken glass from Lake Michigan!
  3. What I would share with a future SCA student: // Lo que compartiría con un/a futuro/a estudiante de SCA es:yоu are amazing, and your art is beautiful <3 // you are enough // art is important, art is the future

As we delved into the responses, a common theme emerged— the evolution of Snow City Arts is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the transformative power of the arts. This year we’ve held in-person and virtual programming for youth, young people, nurses and more through Art Breaks, Open Studio’s, Art Parties, virtual learning, and in individual hospital rooms. We can’t wait to continue this work for another 25 years and beyond.

As we bask in the glow of our 25th anniversary, we are excited about the future. The journey doesn’t end here; it evolves, just like the artwork created within our walls. We remain committed to fostering creativity, building connections, and making a positive impact in the lives of people in the hospital.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our story, whether as a student, alumni, supporter, former staff, or family and friend. The year is not over yet and we’d love to hear your story.
