Gallery Night 2024: To Go Inside a TV – A Night of Creativity, Community, and Impact

On September 27, 2024, Snow City Arts hosted hundreds of guests from Chicago’s philanthropic, medical, corporate, and artistic communities at Gallery Night 2024: To Go Inside a TV!

To Go Inside a TV brings together art created by young people navigating life in the hospital, framed by the theme of retro technology and nostalgia. The collection features a variety of media, from trading cadrs, prints, and sculptures to music and videos, exploring themes like nature, identity, and the analog past. While some pieces directly engage with old technologies, others reach beyond, showcasing personal creativity and resilience. Hosted by Venue West, the exhibition was a celebration of both student voices and their artistic journeys.

Former Snow City Art’s student Julia spoke, after being introduced by Program Manager, Jess Leonard. The Snow City Arts band entertained the crowd with student-composed pieces and even had two Teaching Artists as members!

Guests also heard from board members and last year’s Kate Neisser award-winner, Carrie Spitler, who welcomed this year’s honoree, David A. Steedly with Rush Wellness and the Nursing Wellness Award Committee at Rush University System for Health. We are so grateful for his advocacy and leadership at Rush University Medical Center.

Through the generosity of our sponsors, ticketed attendees, auction donors and bidders, art buyers, donors, and pro-bono partners, Snow City raised a remarkable $127,324 to continue fueling SCA’s programming and granting the transformative gift of arts education to hundreds of students annually across four Chicagoland hospitals.
