Snow City Arts Racial Equity Statement

Since 1998, Snow City Arts has been dedicated to arts education and the redistribution of artistic opportunities. We recognize that we participate in the history of and benefit from the presence of dominant white supremacy in America, Chicago, and this city’s many arts institutions. We also recognize that our current staff and board demographics do not accurately reflect the diverse populations of Chicago and its surrounding suburbs; historically and currently we are an organization that is predominantly white.

We pledge to combat white supremacy culture through continued transparency, reflection, evaluation, accountability, learning, and constant vigilance as we work with our students, their families, and all of our stakeholders.

As a partner organization with Enrich Chicago, we are committed to the work of anti-racism in the Chicago arts community. We are honored to work alongside our fellow cohort members addressing the harm done by racism and white supremacy. We stress this work is not separate from our core mission, but critical to its intention and implementation.
