Allie Spicer: Meet the Teaching Artist Vol. I
Snow City Arts' Teaching Artists are at the core of our work with students in the hospital. As our new Virtual Learning initiative rolls out this week, anyone who engages with our publicly accessible workshops will want to get to know these exceptional artist-educators. Over the Spring, we will be re-introducing Snow City Arts' ten teaching artists in a series of personal profiles. You can read their professional profiles here. Making connections remotely can be challenging, so we hope to [...]
Snow City Arts Virtual Learning Starts in April!
Among arts organizations, Snow City Arts is uniquely affected by the COVID-19 crisis because of the nature of our work in a hospital setting. While schools across the country are closed, and many are providing virtual learning opportunities for their students, SCA’s programs are still governed by HIPAA regulations, making the implementation of virtual learning much more complicated than in a traditional educational setting. At the same time, educational engagement has never been more important for our students, who are [...]
April Events Postponed
Steppenwolf and Lagunitas Events Postponed To practice social distancing and ensure the safety of our larger community, SCA and its community partners have come to the difficult decision of postponing our two upcoming public events: our student showcase at Steppenwolf 1700 on April 3 and 4, and our Auxiliary Board Fundraiser at Lagunitas Brewery on April 7. We will be coordinating with our event partners to offer the same events later, and hope by postponing at this time, we [...]

Working in collaboration with each of our hospital partners, SCA will be suspending on-site hospital programming for the next two weeks at which point we will reassess. Snow City Arts Office [...]

The Arts in Health Research Intensive is a five-day residential program that provides an introduction to the evaluation of arts and health research. This year, 40 advocates from eight different countries (USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Ireland, Korea, Nigeria [...]
